What this game is like

The advantage of a space setting is not only that it looks good; it is contrast. Against a near-black field the pieces glow and separate immediately, so your eyes are not asked to distinguish the pieces from the scenery before distinguishing them from each other. One step of work quietly disappears.

The side effect is how the session feels. A darker screen scattered with small points of light keeps your focus in the middle of the board for longer, which is why many people reach for this kind of palette at night or when they want to shut out whatever else is on the desk. It is the same reasoning behind dark themes in work software.

The mechanic is unchanged: swap adjacent pieces so identical ones line up and clear. Nothing new to learn. If you have played this genre on a white background and found it harsh, particularly late in the evening, this is the one to open instead on the blocks shelf at My Urban Eatery.
